For the first time in school history, Lewis County High School has won back-to-back Governorís Cup District Championships. Saturday, LCHS placed first in Quick Recall and Future Problem Solving, defeating Mason County by 9 points, and defeating St. Pat by 40 points.

Bravin Lykins placed first in Math. Masson Massie placed first in Science and third in Math. Adrianna Goodwin placed first in Language Arts, and Arts and Humanities.

Daulton McGowan placed fourth in Math. Ethan Bloomfield placed fourth in Science. Clayton Scott placed fifth in Social Studies.

Mollie Flannigan placed second in Language Arts and third in Composition. Baesha Johnson placed fifth in Language Arts. Danielle White placed third in Composition.

We will compete in Regional Governorís Cup here at LCHS February 20th.

If you qualify for F/R lunch, you may receive a one time a year waiver for payment thatís available in the counseling office. This opportunity for one time per year fee waiver is for juniors and seniors only.

Beta member volunteers are needed for the Family Resource Centerís basketball league starting mid-January and ending in February. Games may be played Mon., Tues., Thurs., or Sat. Volunteers can take up admission, keep stats, or even referee games. See Mrs. Bentley if you're interested.

The Grayson Rural Electric Scholarship applicaiton can be picked up in Mr. Lewis' office. The application has to be received @ Grayson Rural Electric by Feb. 12, 2016.

The Kentucky Farm Bureau Scholarship Applications must be postmarked by February 29, 2016. Student must have either a minimum 3.5 GPA or minimum 23 ACT score.

Students Deposit Bank of Lewis County is open for business. Cashing checks and taking loan applications in Room 106 Foster Meade. See Mr. Butler or the student workers for your financial needs.
